The Santa Monica Mountains Fire Safe Council will be in the Palisades to conduct Home Ignition Zone (HIZ) assessments. If you are available to schedule a Home Ignition Zone Evaluation, please use the link below to select a time and confirm your appointment. If you are unavailable on this day, please sign up to be notified about upcoming appointments at smmfsc.org/hiz.
Please note that HIZs are only applicable if you currently have a standing structure. If you are in the rebuild phase and have questions regarding home hardening, feel free to check out smmfsc.org/resources or contact jojo@smmfsc.org with questions.
During your home ignition zone assessment, trained evaluators will survey the outside of the home and yard space to assess potential wildfire ignition threats and provide information on how to improve home hardening and defensible space on your property. HIZs are typically 30-45 minutes, free and private. We are a non-regulatory agency and are not associated with any insurance agencies. Please fill out the HIZ waiver beforehand.
